Caelux appoints new CTO to propel perovskite tech development
California-based perovskite technology pioneer Caelux today announced the appointment of Charlie Hasselbrink as the company’s new CTO. This follows the closure[1] of a $12 million Series A3 funding round led by global investment company Temasek[2] early this month.
Hasselbrink is an outstanding technologist known for identifying organizational and technical gaps and quickly implementing the systems and processes necessary to achieve organizational outcomes. With a distinguished track record of managing large-scale development programs, Hasselbrink employs predictive analytics to expedite product innovation and enhance customer engagement. His visionary leadership transcends technological advancements; it also encompasses talent development, cultivates a culture of mentorship and sustains robust relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Prior to Caelux, Hasselbrink held positions at Maxeon Solar, where he led Global Quality, Reliability R&D, and Performance R&D; Mainspring Energy as VP Reliability and Quality; and Sila Nanotechnologies as VP and Front-End Technology Development.
Hasselbrink’s expertise will further fuel the improvement of the company’s proprietary perovskite technology, Caelux One[3], which can integrate seamlessly into existing silicon-based solar module manufacturing processes. The technology is compatible with new silicon solar modules at all deployment sites, creating commercial perovskite-silicon tandem solar modules that boost performance and reduce installed costs while meeting market requirements for durability.
“We’re excited to welcome Charlie to the Caelux team—his addition is a strategic move to propel our technological progress and support our global ramp plans,” said Scott Graybeal, CEO of Caelux.
“His innovative thinking, breadth of experience, and deep technological insights align with our mission, and will undoubtedly prove instrumental in advancing our vision.”
Hasselbrink’s key responsibilities will also include driving strategy and governance within technology and developing the strategy and investment roadmaps.
Additionally, he will also focus on the continued development of Caelux’s global research, development and engineering organizations, as well as establishing strong relationships with investment partners and customers.
